Hi *.
Is it possible to display more exif information within digikam? As far as I know, Exiftool contains many more information about the picture than exif2. Thanks! |
Ask to Exiv2 project. Improvements of metadata parsers must be done in

Well if exiv2 sucks, maybe digikam should find an alternative, such as
exiftool. At least this is my opinion.

Non, non, and no. Exiftool is perl, Exiv2 is C++. digiKAm is C+++, and
Exiv2 support a lots for images formats. Help to improve Exiv2 instead to try to increase puzzle complexity... Maybe you just need to display the full list?
http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/7955/exiflist.png Might be a help... Wow, we are even C++++ ? Yeah! :D
We simply rock! This is why I can't compile digiKam with gcc anymore :-) Andi On Sunday 13 September 2009 11:15:48 Gilles Caulier wrote: > Non, non, and no. If you have concrete improvements in mind, politely ask the exiv2 project, see http://dev.exiv2.org/wiki/exiv2 for further details. Best, Arnd > Gilles Caulier wrote: > > Ask to Exiv2 project. Sorry for the naive question, but where do you get the menu as in your screenshot?
I don't see it here.

Sorry everyone if I insist on this. But, if I look at
exiv2 -pt filename it does show all the info I am interested in. So why can't I see these on digikam? also it would be nice if it was possible to select which data I am interested in... meaning that within the simple and the full list, there should be a personalized list. Thanks! |

Thanks for your reply.
There are few. E.g. Flash settings does not show in digikam (but it does show in exiv2) from exiv -pt: Exif.Nikon3.FlashSetting Ascii 13 SLOW Michael G. You are right.. I apologize for my naive question, once again.
On the other hand, it would be nice to see an option to configure which info to display. Thanks for your help!
