Dear list,
The root of my photo-directory is the root-album of DK. Now I mounted an FTP- site in the root for easy access, to drag and drop photo's there for publishing. Of course, all photos I copy to FTP show up in DK as well, because the folder is mounted inside the collection tree. I find it rather inconvienient to have the same image displayed more than once. I could rearange my collections, so that all the other directories under photos/ are separate collections, thus excluding photos/ftp, but it would easier if I could name some directories to exclude from the settings. Is that possible? Best regards, Boudewijn _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hello Boudewijn,
you can exclude an folder from being displayed in digiKam when the folders name starts with a dot. In your case, e.g.: ".myMountPoint" Best regards, Jan On 19.10.2014 22:53, Boudewijn Kranendonk wrote: > Dear list, > > The root of my photo-directory is the root-album of DK. Hi Jan,

In your case, e.g.: ".myMountPoint" Thanks for the tip. Making the directory invisible in the filesystem defeats my purpose of mounting the directory inside the root of my collection. Now I think of it, I could exclude them by tagging them 'ftp' or 'published', and always filtering on 'does not have tag "ftp"', even if it is some more work. Any idea how restructuring the collection would impact those tags that are in database only? I guessed I'd have to add a new collection '/collection/1995' and move photos from collection '/collection' album '1995' into it, to let DigiKam track the tags associated with an image. When I tried it, it turned out I am not allowed to add a collection that is a directory contained within another collection.
