When editing an image that has already been tagged and/or had a star
rating applied, I would like the editor to preserve those tags and ratings when it saves the file (or makes a copy of it). There doesn't seem to be an option to do this, and I think it should be the default. -- John Stumbles http://stumbles.org.uk :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Hi,
Do you think really that this feature is not yet implemented ? Metadata preservation have been a priority of course during digiKam development. Metadata are written in a dedicated database. To write metadata to image file as well, go to setup/metadata control panel and turn on right options. These are disabled by default to not touch files (old users request). Sorry, my bad: I thought I'd tagged all the images in the album I'm working on and then found that several had no tags, and jumped to the conclusion that the editor had dropped the tags. (I don't understand how the images escaped tagging in the first place: I thought I had selected all the images in the album and tagged them all; but that's another matter.) Regarding the star rating it seemed as if, if I had a filter in place to show only images with, say, 3 or more stars and then I edited an image, when I closed the editor digikam would move onto the next image, as though the now-edited one no longer matched the filter's tag criterion. Not sure what's happening there; I'm still feeling my way around using this fine software :-/ regards -- John Stumbles http://stumbles.org.uk :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
