Embeded jpeg and exif data

samkv
Hi.

Is it possible to preserve exif data when you use "extract embedded preview" option in batch manager?

It's not implemented.

In fact RAW preview are embeded in a dedicated TIFF/EP tag. The image do not contain metadata (A least i tested with my ARW Sony).

We can make some code to take Exif info from RAW and patch JPRG image with it but it's complrx due to fondamental differences between RAW and JPG. Not all RAW exif can be encapsuled in JPEG as well...

I imagine the workflow for that case is for all metadata to be stored
in an external XMP sidecar file.
