Easy printing of several (scaled) pics?

Peter Neubauer-3
Hi there,
just owndering if there is anything like the Canon utility
Easy-PhotoPrint that comes with their cameras for printing and scaling
pics onto some photo paper? I find that extremely useable for it's
purpose and guess it would make life a lot easier for the already
great Digikam.

Right now I'm copying the pics into OpenOffice and layouting them onto
a A4 page there, but that is very cumbersome.

/peter

You can use Albums -> Export -> Print Wizard for it.  Unfortunately
in my case (with PS Printer, or kghostview) it's unusably slow.

A quite fast solution is gnome-photo-printer.  Only problem is you
can't specify images on the command line and d&d is not working, so
one has to add the photos via 'open file'.

28 Pictures on 7 pages with 9x13:

-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 350627503 2006-07-12 22:58 ../output-gnome-photo-printer.ps
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 157514243 2006-07-12 22:26 ../output-printwizard.ps

In the time gnome-photo-printer PS finished printing, not one page was printed
from printwizard PS file.  Same when loading the images in a postscript viewer ;)

To me vi is Zen.  To use vi is to practice zen. Every command is
a koan. Profound to the user, unintelligible to the uninitiated.
You discover truth everytime you use it.
