Easiest way to install digiKam on a Windows computer ?

I hate to ask it, but my wife needs digiKam on her windows computer.

What is the easiest way for me to set this up ?

Will 1.8.0 be more stable and complete for the Windows platform than
1.7 ?  ie does 1.8 have many Windows specific bug fixes ?
