Digikam trash on desktop in KDE 4.1

I am using Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.1 and Digikam 0.9.4. I have the
Folder View plasmoid enabled, which displays the contents of ~/Desktop
on the desktop.

When I erase photos from Digikam, a new folder is created in ~/Desktop
called "trash" (Translated from Hebrew. On my system it was called
"אשפה") and in that folder are found the photos that I deleted from
Digikam. Only the photos from Digikam are found in that folder. Items
that were deleted from Dolphin do not show in that folder.

Is this a bug in Digikam, that it does not use the standard KDE 4.x trashbin?
