with the last digikam I got (3.2), I have a new tag "_Digikam_root_tag_", and most old tags are under this one. what is the purpose of this tag? I have seen this before and still has pictures with this tag.

Former tags bug has been fixed in the 3.5.0 version; you'd better upgrade before reorganizing your tags hierarchy. Marie-Noëlle
