Digikam not seeing kipiplugins.

Ralph De Witt
HI I have a Dapper install that is running good with the exception of Digikam.
I have digikam 0.8.2-rc1-0ubuntu3, digikamimageplugins 0.8.0-11-1ubuntu1,
kipiplugins 0.1+rc1-1ubuntu2, and libkipi0 0.1.2-2ubuntu6. My problem is that
the kipiplugins are not seen in digikam. Can some one help me get them
working. Thanks for your help.

Hi Ralph,

Did you check if
  o the plugins are listed/selected in settings->configure digikam ...
    ->  kipi-plugins(icons on the left).
or
  o running 'kbuildsycoca' as the user which wants to use digikam helps
    (logout/in has the same effect)
helps?

Thanks to all for your help. I took all the steps mentioned in this list one
more time including a shutdown and restart. This cleared the problem. Now I
have kipiplugins. I have no idea what the problem was, but am going to
attribute it to a quirk of Kubuntu 6.06. Again thanks for all your help.

I had the same pb on Kubuntu 6.06. I did ldconfig and it didn't help. Than i
rebooted for another reason and the kipis were visible. I wonder what the
booting did to the configuration.
