Digikam forum

Ingo Malchow
Dear digikam devs,

As one of the forum admins i was made aware we have a lot of topics about
digikam [1], so the question was made why don't we just setup a dedicated
forum area for digikam. Note, gwenview also has its own area. ;)
We wouldn't do this without the agreement of your team and also offer you to
provide one (or more, of course) moderators for your area.
If you like to have it, just provide us a possible structure for subforums you
would like to see. Can be nested as you wish.

Cheerio,
Ingo Malchow

Re: Digikam forum

Gilles Caulier-4
Hi Malchow,

Why not to have a forum about digiKam.

I recommend to use the same structure than bugzilla components for sub-forums.

Look here :

As you can see, we have separated all lead digiKam components in bugzilla. I'm not sure that all need to be created in Forum.

Note also that we have a dedicated product entry for :

Thanks. Yes, that might be a bit over the top for a user support forum :P
One structure that comes to my mind though would be

- Digikam (for general questions)
-- News&Discussion
-- image editor plugins
-- Showfoto
-- Kipi

This is basically based on the below and what proved to be working fine for the
krita folks.

Any volunteer for the mod position?

Moderator can be a task delegate to a digiKam users. Mod job can be time consuming for developers  and time is precious...

I sure that some long time fan users available in [hidden email] mailing list will be ready to do this job...

Fine. What about the proposed structure? Fine with it or any other
suggestions?
