[Digikam-devel] "take a tour" movies about 0.9.0 release...

Hi all,

To prepare next 0.9.0-beta1 release announce (planed with Achim during July),
I think that we need some take a tour screen movies to present new digiKam
features.

In my free.fr web space, i have 10Gb available now. We can create some MPEG4
movies running digiKam and store it to free.fr.

New feature to present are :

- Metadata support
- Color management support
- RAW files support.
- New design of image plugins.
etc...

Some volumeters in this room ?

Of course, if it can be read by most popular video player on all OS (:=)))...

Thanks for your help. I'm currently very busy to prepare the 0.9.0-beta1
source code.

And if you can write a little notice to do it. I have tried with xvidcap under
Mandriva 2006 without success. If you have a better solution, let's me hear
(i'm curious (:=)))...

My time is limited outside to maintain source code. This is why i have posted
a message to this ML because it a non-developper task.

I think the best to use to make this "tour" is Wink for that
http://www.debugmode.com/wink/
You will see on the home page what wink can do,

The result is a flash tutorial , you can create easily notes, buttons to
create interactive tutorial

It's not open-source but it's free and work under Linux very well

I havnt started yet cause I have no internet connection and when I
arrived home I realized I was missing some dependency so Im
downloading them right now. For the info, Im gonna use istanbul, you
can find tutorials on ubuntu and gnome site i think.

the same as istanbul but output gif instead of theora, it looks good
too. Im gonna try both.

Ok Pat, I will take a look...

I have tested Wink (http://www.debugmode.com/wink) suggested by Maxime. The
Flash ouput run very well and the application is simple to use.

Take your time to make your movies. I'm go to my Family near to mediteraneen
sea. I don't have a speedup internet connection (RTC only). I will back at
home Friday or saturday.

With Marcel, we have planed to build the first 0.9.0-beta1 next week. It will
be cool to post some url to the movies in the announce...

hey, I´m strugglinmg a bit with my graphic card so the videos will
look a bit slow. Is that ok? Also it would be great if you could send
me some photos with lots of IPC data and one with GPS cause I dont
have those.

The movies are great but quite large. As I have not see such a hint in the
tutorial, to reduce the size of a screen capture record it only with
10-12fps.

The movies are great but quite large. As I have not see such a hint in the
tutorial, to reduce the size of a screen capture record it only with
10-12fps.
