Hi all,
Since a long time i have the idea to implement a pixels exposure indicator to show over-exposed and under-exposed areas on picture. With digital camera, an under-exposed image give pixels with a pure black. To oposite, an over-exposed image give pixels with a pure white. From my Minolta Dynax 5D, when i preview a picture on the side pannel, there is a tool witch display the histogram and blink the over exposed pixels using black color and the under exposed using white color. Look on this review, at "Play Display" section. There is example of the panel in action : http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/konicaminolta7d/page7.asp I have tried to reproduce this feature in editor. The blinking way is not possible to do, but build and show a mask to overcolor the pixels is easy : http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Screenshots/underexposureindicator.png http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Screenshots/overexposureindicator.png If you want to try it, there is a patch against svn here : http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/misc.tarballs/exposureindicator.patch Let's me hear if you like these features... In that plugin you can already do something about this problem. Only showing problems in main window doesn't help much. Maybe clicking icon in lower-right corner could bring that plugin (if available)? m. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

Of course, the histogram can help you for this task, but don't give the information about the place where are the wrong exposed pixels.
