The thumbnails for my NEF-Files are not rotated because of the missing exif information in the thumbnail. dcraw -e doesn't provide any exif-information the nef file has the necessary information.

e.g. file: http://slave.paranoidbsd.org/photo/dsc-0002.nef
http://slave.paranoidbsd.org/photo/dsc-0002.dcraw-e.jpg
I filled a bug report at nikon to integrate the exif-information within the thumbnail as well as for the nef, but I have no hope for this firmware change.

This entry still valid using digiKam 0.9.3, Exiv2 0.16, and last stable libkexiv2 ?

I cannot verify it with 0.9.3 because I switchted to OpenBSD and the
prebuild package (0.9.2). But with 0.9.2 it works fine!
