Forgive me for asking, but is there somewhere that I can download a pre
compiled Digikam Windows binary ? Thanks _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

If you put the installer in 'developer mode', you can search a list of packages to install, of which one is digikam. (Not the newest version of course.) By the way, it didn't work for me, as a lot of the kde background processes (dbus) refused to work properly on my vista and digikam relies on them. But maybe you have more luck. But beware that non-KDE-Linux Systems seem not to be the main focus of development for digikam. Please speak up if you find precompiled or even statically linked versions for Windows or even Mac OS X. I would really like to try them as well. BTW: The Marbel app, which is used inside digikam to geolocate photos, is (was) not available through the kde installer. But digikam should work without. The problem is not about making static libraries itself, but about how KDE works e.g. you will always need all the system daemons (kded, kdeinit etc.). > I would really like to try them as well. If you give some more details, we can try to fix your issues, digikam should work (maybe not completely but at least you would call it running.). > > Regards, > > Stefan regards, Patrick > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (MingW32) iEYEARECAAYFAkrA0rQACgkQi49rfdk/G3bCCQCgnqRXSh2eE7EzA4G2KzvSuucY +sIAn1z8S60MfhBMo7HVDSjksCgw1kbn =xUsb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I recently tried to install gpg4win which uses Kleopatra as key manager and the dbus problem still is the same as during the try to install the whole kde about 2 month ago... But actually running it on windows was already the workaround for not beeing able to run it on Mac OS X. I'm only spending very little time on that windows machine, so my reports would be so damn slow you would soon be regretting that you tried to help me. But I will post my results should I try it again some day. (That is if it's not YOU who desperatly needs some feedback on that matter. It basicaly comes down to finding some time and overcome my inner temptations on avoiding that machine.)
