Dear Sirs
How to create, edit and write to the 'Custom ' XMP fields in Digikam XMP? "The standard is designed to be extensible, allowing users to add their own custom types of metadata into the XMP data." Quote From DAM page, Digikam Handbook. When i go to "image" > "metadata" > " Edit XMP " i Find a dialogue box named" Edit XMP Metadata - Digikam" This has menu items: Content,Origin,Credits,Subjects,Keywords,Categories,Status,Properties. None of these allow me to create custom XMP fields and write XMP values. Also ,possible error in: Settings > Configure Digikam > Templates. I find a dialogue box named "Metadata Templates" This has 4 tabs ,Rights,Location,Contact,Subjects Only the "Rights" tab dialogue box will accept and RETAIN my text input. Also there is no tab for "Custom XMP fields" I can make more money donations if that would help with my problems. Regards John Bestevaar Digikam 1.2.0 All Kipi plugins activated. Customized data are very specific and need a complex editor GUI. > > Also ,possible error in: > Settings > Configure Digikam > Templates. > I find a dialogue box named "Metadata Templates" > This has 4 tabs ,Rights,Location,Contact,Subjects > Only the "Rights" tab dialogue box will accept and RETAIN my text input. not reproducible. make a sure to select the template to change for the top of dialog. Creating a new template work fine too. You can edit feild from other tab... Same problem with custom XMP field than metadata editor. Hi Giles
Custom XMP: OK i see why that is not in Digikam. To me it would be worth paying $100 aud for the custom XMP capability in Digikam and in my Templates. Perhaps other Digikam users might do so as well? Template Error: Yes it is probably an error in the Digikam on my machine. How to fix: Try reinstall of Digikam 1.2.0 or install Digikam 1.8 ? Found a workaround: 1; Select the template 2; Select the tab 3:Type text into the fields. 4; Click on "Replace" then click " OK" Regards John Bestevaar On 06/02/11 20:07, Gilles Caulier wrote: > 2011/2/6 John Bestevaar<[hidden email]>: >> Dear Sirs >> How to create, edit and write to the 'Custom ' XMP fields in Digikam XMP? >> >> "The standard is designed to be extensible, allowing users to add their own >> custom types of metadata into the XMP data."
