I recently updatet to KDE 4.8. Digikam 2.5 does start.
But it doesn't show any thumbnails and every folder shows 0 pictures! I choosed one existing folder to refresh thumbnails. It works over all unvisible (but still) existing pictures. Afterwards still no thumbnails and counting 0 pictures continues. Files are there, but not shown. The pictures I I choosed for the folder thumbnails on the very left side menu still are still shown. Starting digikam from konsole I get this message, which might be related to the problem: digikam(8067): couldn't create slave: "Aufruf des Ein-/Ausgabemoduls nicht möglich. (Something like calling IOmodules not possible) klauncher meldet: Fehler beim Laden von „kio_digikamdates“ (klauncher says problem with kio_digikamdates) ... continues that way ... than: digikam(8067)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageInfoJob::slotResult: Failed to list url: "Prozess kann nicht gestartet werden: Aufruf des Ein-/Ausgabemoduls nicht möglich. (calling IO-module not possible) klauncher meldet: Fehler beim Laden von „kio_digikamsearch“ (problem calling kio-digikamsearch) (I dont know, if this is related to the problem: Updating to KDE 4.8 there went something wrong. I ended up with many deinstalled programs, digikam was deinstalled as well, so I just reinstalled it from philip's extra ppa. It's todays version) Any ideas where that comes from? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I have the same problem. I think that error is in kio_digikamalbums.

I don't have that problem myself but I can understand why things like
that could happen. I should break out special rebuilds of Digikam against the kubuntu teams PPA with KDE 4.8.0. Then people using KDE 4.8 should use that PPA too as I have done before with other kubuntu releases and KDE updates. I just haven't done it yet. /Philip On Wed, Feb 29, 2012 at 2:32 PM, guinsel <[hidden email]> wrote: > I have the same problem. Dear Philip, if you are going to make a KDE 4.8 PPA and it's in the near
future, great. Otherwise I will go back to KDE 4.7. If you could let me know. Thank you! Manfred _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I will make a special setup with packages built for KDE 4.8 this weekend at the latest if nothing happens. /Philip On Mar 1, 2012 6:30 AM, "Manfred" <[hidden email]> wrote:

I haven't had that problem on any of the computers I've upgraded to 4.8. Odd that only some are having problems with thumbnails. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
I have now uploaded rebuilded packages of Digikam 2.5 for Ubuntu 11.10
that use the Kubuntu teams PPA with KDE 4.8.0. If you use KDE 4.8.0 from that PPA then also add my kubuntu-backports PPA. That mean that you have to have both my "extra" PPA and the "kubuntu-backports" PPA from my site on Launchpad, https://launchpad.net/~philip5. You can add this PPA by typing the following command in your terminal: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:philip5/kubuntu-backports If you are using KDE 4.8.0 this will also give the benefit Digikam using newer versions of exiv2 and libraw. If you don't use KDE 4.8 with (k)ubuntu 11.10 then don't use this. Happy digikaming! /Philip _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Works fine here with KDE 4.8.
Thank you Philip!!! Great! _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
