I found that the size of a PNG file generated from the same RAW file is *very* different when a) the image editor is used -> 50+ MB b) Tools -> RAW Image Converter is used -> about 12 MB although compression rate is 9 in Setup -> Saving Images as well as in the Save As... dialog of the image editor. My setup under openSuSE 11.0 is dcraw-1.404-7.1 digikam-0.9.4-14.3 digikamimageplugins-0.9.4-14.3 digikamimageplugins-superimpose-0.9.4-14.3 digikam-lang-0.9.4-14.3 kipi-plugins-0.1.5-13.1 libexiv2-2-0.16-29.1 libgphoto2-2.4.2-1.1 libjasper-1.900.1-98.1 libjpeg-6.2.0-852.1 libkdcraw3-0.1.4-11.1 (but dcraw 8.87) libkde4-4.0.4-15.2 libkexiv2-3-0.1.7-10.1 libkipi0-0.1.6-5.1 libpng12-0-1.2.26-14.2 libqt4-4.4.0-12.4 libtiff3-3.8.2-108.2 and I use a Canon EOS 450D. If you use digiKam and kipi-plugins for KDE3, Raw converter plugin support only 8 bits color depth, else digiKam image editor 16 bits color depth but 50 Mb is very large. which RAW camera formt you convert ? Can you send me a raw file sample to test here (by private mail) Gilles Caulier _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
