Hi,
I'd like to have the public opinion on the default values for "Sync from
digikam to Nepomuk" and "Sync from nepomuk to digikam" settings.
1) "Sync from digikam to Nepomuk"
Pro: KDE is pushing apps to support Nepomuk and digikam. It is expected to
become more and more important in the next years. Digikam has a lot of info to
offer. It gives a feeling of integration if Dolphin displays the rating just
set in digikam.
Con: Some people dont use nepomuk's services
Current default settings: false
Suggestion for default value: true
2) "Sync from Nepomuk to digikam"
Pro: Given dolphin displays the rating from digikam - why should the change
not be reflected back? Gives full integration into nepomuk. Tags, comments,
ratings can be changed everywhere. These occasion will increase in the future.
Con: Nepomuk does not support hierarchical tags, therefore tag import is
cumbersome. Currently there is no syncing with the image's metadata, this is
an inconsistency: a change from within digikam will update the file, a change
from dolphin will change digikam's database but not the file.
Current default settings: false
Suggestion for default value: unsure
