Don't know anything about digiKam and video but if you are referring
to interlaced video frames and not interleaved audio and video data
within the AVI file...

Also, my dad's digital camcorder most definitely resulted in
interlaced DV AVI files. We have spent plenty of time dealing with
that in various ways.
