Copy all comments to EXIF/IPTC

Florian Lindner
Hello,
since the new digikam 0.9 stores the comments in the EXIF/IPTC meta data, is
there any way to move all existing comments to the EXIF/IPTC header?

Thanks,

Florian

move all existing comments ? What do yo u mean exactly ? do you want to have a
batch tool to sync EXIF and IPTC from all image collections with digiKam
database contents ?

If yes, well we have add a tool like this in current implementation from svn.
It will available for 0.9.1 release...

If I understand it correctly:
Comments used to be saved in the digikam database digikam3.db but now they are
stored in the pictures itself.
Now I want all existing comments to be stored in the pictures too.

Thanks,

Florian

Yes, this tool is exactly what you want. Look here :

http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Screenshots/syncmetadatatofile.png

...This is the first tool to sync all images of current album. There is a new
menu option "Album/Sync Pictures Metadata"

http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/Screenshots/syncmetadatatoallfiles.png

... This is the second tool to sync all albums. This one will take a while of
course. There is a new menu option "Tools/Sync All Pictures Metadata".

Th sync process will use the settings from Setup/Metadata page.

And this tool will be included in the next digiKam release?

Thanks,

Florian
