Consistence between Albums, Dates and Tags

On the left hand side, digikam has three tabs (Albums, Dates, Tags), which
all produce a tree of picture selections. Despite this similar task, those
behave very differently in producing the thumbnail view. For example, some
include pictures of sub-nodes, others do not, and grouping of the generated
thumbnail view is not consistent either.

There is a bug in b.k.o describing exactly this problem, and suggesting how
it should work. I agree with all those suggestions:

I am writing this mail, because I want to emphasize, that there are multiple
bugs in b.k.o which are related to the above. Most of them would (should)
be closed by its implementation:

and maybe more which I missed.

What do you think, is it possible to refactor the left sidebar and related
issues, such as to have more consistence between the different sorting
options (Albums, Dates, Tags)?

sure , but this cannot be done for 0.9.2 because there are a lots of changes in this release. We will certainly take a look about this subject when Qt 4.0 port will be done (planed this summer)

Yes fine for me. Some of the bugs need to be solved in the database code
(listing subalbums as well), others in the IconView (sorting, display, and of
course the famous "Dont display images separated by Album" bug)
