Canon G12 RAW CR2 files don't look right when trying EDIT in digikam

AT
Hello, the raw CR2 files look fine in preview (see attachments) but when i choose edit them they look horrid. Very yellow and high contrast. I am using Ubuntu 10.04. Any ideas what could be wrong?

digiKam
Version 1.2.0
Using KDE Development Platform 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5

Raw files contain a JPEG image embedded in the file and this is what you
are seeing in the preview. This was produced by the camera at the time
the file was saved and takes into account things such as the white
balance selected. In the edit window you are seeing how digikam, with
its current settings, would 'develop' that raw data. As you can see this
is almost always nothing like how the Canon camera or even Canon
software would do it. There have been some recent messages on this list
about the difficulties in getting digikam to produce an image that
closely resembles the embedded JPEG. This is one of the shortcomings,
IMO, of digikam in that it starts from scratch for developing raw files.
Some people find Darktable or Rawtherapee do this job better.
