Can't edit exif data on Canon 80D CR2

Hi,

I’m trying to edit exif date time data on Canon 80D CR2 files but it fails to safe.
I tried with the Item -> Edit Exif-Metadata dialog and with the batch tool.
In the dialog after editing a date time and clicking “apply” it instantly reverts.
On the BQM it just gives an error that the file couldn’t be saved.

I tried with digikam 5.4.0 on MacOSX Sierra.

Did I miss anything?

There is an option in Setup/metadata panel to be able to write info in RAW file. It's disabled by default because it's experimental. Typically, RAW are read only. It's at your risk...
