Can't Install on MAC

Bob Goldstein
I installed the Macports thing, and then typed the magic line into terminal.  But as far as I can tell, nothing happened.  How is a photographer, as opposed to a computer whiz, to use this thing??

In reply to this post by Bob Goldstein
# sudo port install digikam

I found that I successfully started a thread only by going to the archives for January 2014. New to the list, I don’t know how to properly reply if I haven’t obtained the message via email.   So I am just replying to the one correspondent, [hidden email] as best I can.

Re: Can't Install on MAC

Before to use "port install" command, you need to setup macport properly :

> sudo port -v selfupdate

And after you can install digiKam :

> sudo port install -v digikam +debug

This can time few hours, depending of your computer and internet connection.

To complete, initialize KDE and Dbus services.

> launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist
> /opt/local/bin/kbuildsycoca4

digiKam must be available on Applications/Macports/KDE menu of your
Apple computer and ready to use...
