CR2 files Purple in edit

Daniel MacPhee
Hi,

I make photos using RAW CR2 files as I have canon EOS camera. Digikam copes well with sorting the images, tagging etc. However if I try to edit them they open as a part image, a vertical band that is black and purple. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). Any suggestions  apart from upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10?
Cheers,

Daniel.

1/ which libkdcraw/libraw you use. Look Help/Components Info for details
2/ Give me an url to download a CR2 file to test in local
