Building Digikam 3.0 on Kubuntu 12.10

Christoph Siedentop-2
Hi!

I am trying to build and install Digikam 3.0. I am following the
information given in README.local. However, on the last step of the
install
KDEDIRS="/your/root/directory/"
KDESYCOCA="/your/root/directory/var/tmp/kde-$USER/ksycoca4"
kbuildsycoca4
it fails.

How can I fix that?

Below is the complete output.
chris@laptop:~/src/digikam-3.0.0/build$
KDEDIRS="/home/chris/src/digikam-install/"
KDESYCOCA="/home/chris/src/digikam-install/var/tmp/kde-$USER/ksycoca4"

Suffice to say, the disk is not full.

You login seems to be chris (i.e. the value of $USER), so have you
created the directory
/home/chris/src/digikam-install/var/tmp/kde-chris/ksycoca4?

Best,

Yes, I did but shouldn't have. Deleting that last ksyscoca4 folder helped. Maybe someone could fix that in the descriptions?

Regards, Christoph

I took me some time to understand the problem, but you are right, the
mkdir command shouldn't contain "ksyscoca4" which is a file. I'll fix
that.
