I also have this problem. When, at first stratup, I configure the album's
directories and Digikam starts to create the database, it crashes....If I
launch digikam from Konsole, I've this output:
mirko@darkstar:~$ digikam

digikam: Fatal IO error: client killed
KCrash: Application 'digikam' crashing...
