I see the same issue here with a Canon EOS 1000D.
I found the solution for me in this launchpad entry:
https://answers.launchpad.net/digikam/+question/6201I tested the chown part, I did not yet test the udev rules.d part.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=586988 might be related as
well.
Surprising is that on my system I have no libgphoto2-2 specific udev rules:
blackbox:~# dpkg -L libgphoto2-2|grep udev
/lib/udev
/lib/udev/check-ptp-camera
/etc/udev
/etc/udev/rules.d
blackbox:~#
Should this bug be reassigned to libgphoto2-2?
