Package: digikam
Version: 0.7.2-2
Severity: important

I'm using Nikon Coolpix 5900 with mere USB access (no PTP support at the time).

Every time one of the memory cards contains both picture and movies
(*.mov), Digikam thumbnail utility while accessing to the camera gets in
trouble.

The consequence is simple : I can't "download" (sic) at all the complete
collections (pictures and movies) using digikam UI. This is a major
flaw, in my opinion.

My workaround is long : I use Konqueror to access the memory card (Konqueror do fine
with the *.MOV thumbnails BTW) and I paste & copy onto my HD the movies files  so I can delete
these on the card and, after doing that,  use in normal way Digikam.

Well, it's not a satisfactory situation to me.

Incidently, maybe this flaw is related to the same faulty behavior as
the one spotted in bug #305566
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=305566

Best regards,

Yojik
