[Bug 312388] New: Improvements to meta information template management: order by, tree

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312388

            Bug ID: 312388
Summary: Improvements to meta information template management:
                    order by, tree
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: digikam
           Version: 2.8.0
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Metadata
          Assignee: [hidden email]
          Reporter: [hidden email]

Currently, I used a basic template for meta information model and create a new
one for each main location I go.
2 problems:
* lot of duplicates as only location changes, barely for contact. being to
handle this as a tree both in data storage or display would be nice
* currently templates list is displayed in chronological order of creation ...
I have tons of them and have each time to go to end of list. should be easier:
for example settings options to sort list as chronological/reverse
chronological/alphabetical or reverse.

Thanks

Reproducible: Always

--- Comment #1 from Wolfgang Scheffner <[hidden email]> ---
I agree with the sort option, would be important to me too. The rest I don't
understand, sorry!
The sort option one sets in the templates manager should apply then as well to
the drop down list in the "Information" tab where you apply the templates.
