I have just tried it using 2.6.0 with the same result. Filed in Launchpad at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/digikam/+bug/1017115 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install digikam in Ubuntu 2.
