Itcan beavailable as binary in your distro (i know Dedian one, or Mageia) You can compile it yourself too... More than 4 month separate 2.5.0 and 2.6.0 with more than 100 bugs fixed and a lots of new features. It will affect your 2.5.0 of course, excepted if you use a different computer or a virtual machine to test...
