https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290072 Summary: XMP sidecars available for all file types user wants
to
Product: digikam
Version: 2.3.0
Platform: MS Windows
OS/Version: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: Sidecar Management

Version: 2.3.0 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: MS Windows
Currently digiKam can be configured to add all metadata only in XMP sidecar
files (in addition to digiKam's database).
If user then adds new file types in MIME-types section of configuration dialog,
metadata for these added file types is stored only in digiKam's DATABASE. XMP
sidecars are not created at all for these file types. It would be also safer to
have metadata in two places - sidecars and database.
Add option to create XMP sidecars for any file type user wants to. Hopefully
this is not a hard to implement feature!
