Summary: certain PEF/jpeg files not recognized as raw/non raw Product: digikam Version: 2.0.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Filters AssignedTo: [hidden email] ReportedBy: [hidden email] Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux Using dk 2.0.0 beta 4. Tested beta 5: it is still there. Certain images are shown as: dimensions ¨unknown¨ or as ¨0x0 (0.00Mpx)¨, bit depth 0 bpp, color mode ¨unknown¨ in ¨properties¨ tab while those info is correct in the ¨metadata¨ tab. But what is worse: Those pictures do show up if the picture is a PEF and the filter = non RAW files Those pictures do not show up if the picture is a JPG and the filter = Jpeg Those pictures do not show up if the picture is a PEF and the filter = Raw files I decided to filter for ¨no raw files¨ to delete all jpg in a folder and lost this way a number raw files, fortunately saved by the backup. This happens or happens not. I could not find out why or when it happens or not happens. But if it happens to a specific picture it happens all the time to that specific picture. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: No idea -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

--- Comment #3 from Rinus Bakker <sleeplessregulus hetnet nl> 2011-05-08 10:47:11 --- After resizing the problem has gone, so I have to send the original but as I expected that failed. --- Comment #5 from Rinus Bakker <sleeplessregulus hetnet nl> 2011-05-08 19:47:02 --- I did some tests. copying an affected file within dk passed te problems on to the copied image. After copy image outside dk the copy had not such issues. I concluded that the problem is a corrupte db and did reread metadata from file. This solved the issue. Probably no further action required. What do you think? Only problem. How becomes the db corrupted in a way the image properties assumed are incorrect while the info is correct in the metadata? --- Comment #6 from Marcel Wiesweg <marcel wiesweg gmx de> 2011-06-11 17:00:48 --- What about the file size (in bytes) entry in the right side bar? Is it 0 or correct? Does the problem go away after a restart (given "Scan at startup" is enabled)? There is the long-standing problem #233222 which is not trivial to fix perfectly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

--- Comment #9 from Marcel Wiesweg <marcel wiesweg gmx de> 2011-06-11 22:50:34 --- F5 will do less than Reread metadata, but it will certainly rescan zero size images. What is missing is to rescan partial files after they have reached their final size, but I did not find a cross-platform method to check if a file is currently written to, nor is there any form of notification.
