[Bug 268979] New: QUESTION: how to search for "0000_0000" here both "0000" stands for hazardeous numbers

Axel Krebs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268979

Summary: QUESTION: how to search for "0000_0000" here both
                    "0000" stands for hazardeous numbers
           Product: digikam
           Version: 2.0.0
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Searches
        AssignedTo: [hidden email]
        ReportedBy: [hidden email]

Version:           2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS:                Linux

Sometimes, I need to search for certain pics.
When editing those, I combine numbers and underscores.
There are two number groups:
- 4 numbers, underscore, 4 numbers (together 9 letters)

How can I search fpr these pics?

Search for underscore "_" would be too unspecific, an dsearch fpr "0000_0000"
does not even start.

Placeholder as "*" seems _not_ to work

Axel

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I am not sure, if I missed s.t. or if this is a mistake?

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.35-28-generic-pae
Compiler: cc

Gilles:

Thanks for re-questioning.

This bug refers to a very oldish digiKam version, however back some years. I
suppose the threat is resolved (without checking myself).

The numbers referred to an sequence of numbers  within the file names.

REMARK: As much as I remember,  this issues occured in the context of
HUGIN-created panorama pics. Here, I suggested to write the pics name of the
first and the last panorama pic into the panorama pics name, automatically.

Example: pic_1 = DSC1234, pic_2 = DSC1235,.... pic_n = DSC123n gives the name
of the panorama DSC1234_DSC123n.

This was realized by your people.
