On the machine with 12.1 where digikam crashes, I removed digikam and
digikamrc.
I rebooted and reinstalled digikam (from yast) and now digikam accesses my ptp
camera.

When attempting to upload pitures vis the menu Import-Camera, Digikam crashes
as soon as the camera is selected.  This occurs on every attempt and with
different cameras.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
