Digikam crash report

Version:           1.8.0 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS:                Linux

I did rename a bunch of PNG file but I made a mistake and they ended up with
.JPG extension. When I imported them in Digikam the thumbnails would not show
up then I got a segmentation fault.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Crash appear in KDELibs, but trace is uncomplete. Please run digiKam through
GDB to have a better bactrace

The crash is in malloc -> Memory corruption, could have happened anytime
anywhere. If this is reproducible, please add a valgrind log.

Feel free to reopen if still applicable with a recent 2.x version.
