Since clean install of Kubuntu 10.04 the problem is gone.

Anyone who can reproduce that bug:
Please run digikam under gdb, add a breakpoint on
'KCategoryDrawer::~KCategoryDrawer()' or
'Digikam::ImageCategoryDrawer::~ImageCategoryDrawer()', and check if the
breakpoint hits before the crash. If yes, give me a backtrace. If not, it's
getting even more mysterious.

same here: crashes everytime I close the app. Doesn't seem to have any
consequences, except that the crash handler is shown.

Both breakpoint have been reached before the crash, first
'Digikam::ImageCategory...' then 'KCategoryDrawer:...'.

So the breakpoints hit exactly once, in the call stack leading to the crash (if
you backtrace at the breakpoints, you get the same backtrace except for the
last few lines yet missing?)

Marcel, I don't know nothing about gdb, but I started a new gdb session, set
the breakpoints and typed "backtrace" when reached... I copied the complete
output, so you can also see what I typed. If you need more or other info, just
let me know and tell me how I can get it...

SVN commit 1165397 by mwiesweg:

Based on the available debugging information, I can give no reason
why this is crashing, and cannot reproduce.
Nonetheless it is crashing for a lot of people, so try if removinf this
statement helps
(and, yes, it is apparently a memory leak, but only at application shutdown)

Ok, I dont know what's happening here. If it crashes, let's remove the "delete"
statement to cure symptoms. Still better than keeping crashing.
