After founding Digikam for KDE4, the problem of not loading core image plugins
emerged. In czech translation, various linuxes (incl. Gentoo, Suse and many
others), the main plugin modul failed to load, making digikam image editing
feature much poorer and less usable.
This is a problem for months, it has been solvable by editing file
digikamimageplugins_core.desktop
Curiously, changing Name[cs] to anything czech did work until last upgrade.
Upon editation the new instance of Digikam loaded core plugins just good. In
the new verison 1.0.0 build 209 this does not work anymore and regardless of
editing and correcting the .desktop file, core image plugins do not load.
The solution with the correction the digikamimageplugins_core.desktop file is
posted on czech support forums. It concerns past versions of digikam and the
solution does not help now.
