[Bug 197434] New: crash when trying to access camera card via USB. Menu Import/USB Storage/USB FLash Reader

Bugzilla from ryszard.musielak@onet.eu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197434

Summary: crash when trying to access camera card via USB. Menu
                    Import/USB Storage/USB FLash Reader
           Product: digikam
           Version: 0.10.0
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: [hidden email]
        ReportedBy: [hidden email]

Version:           0.10.0 (using KDE 4.2.4)
Compiler:          gcc version 4.3.2 (Gentoo 4.3.2 p1.1) Target:
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages

Hi,
I just installed Digikam on my Sabayon KDE4.2 64-bit Linux, as I have problems
reading files on my CANON memory card. So I mount my card using a USB card
reader. Somehow Digikam cannot mount/connect to my camera Powershot A620 (never
had any problems with KDE3.5.1).
When I use the option Import/USB Storage Devices/USB Disk FLash reader Digikam
crashes:

Do you have non image file on your media, as video or sound ?

If yes, try with 1.0.0-beta1. i have fixed a crash relevant.

Hi,

well, I just upgraded my system to Gentoo/ Sabayon version 5 with KDE 4.3.1.
Kernel = 2.6.31

I still cannot read the pictures via the USB hub, no crashes, but
mounting the card
is problematic. Flashes, switches on and off in Dolphin.

I managed to have a workaround - I installed Digikam, I connect my Canon
camera
directly via USB and I can download my pictures without any problem.

I do not have any crashes, but maybe there is a problem with the card
reader?
I can use any USB device except the SD card reader.

I don't know, what I can do to debug this. Have you any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard.
