[Bug 196515] New: synchronize images doesn't update exif time tags in database

Bert Haverkamp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196515

Summary: synchronize images doesn't update exif time tags in
                    database
           Product: digikam
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: [hidden email]
        ReportedBy: [hidden email]

Version:           0.10-ubuntu3 (using KDE 4.2.2)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    Ubuntu Packages

I had to merge photos from different cameras (from friends ) in one album. I
discovered that the time of one of the cameras was wrong and I changed them
with the exiftime tool to the right time.

I had expected digikam to pick up those new times with "synchronize all images
with database. That didn't work as expected. I tried different things (removing
the album and re-adding) but eventually had to delete the database and rebuild
it in order to get the right dates in.

I imagine the problem of merging two batches of photos with different
time-stamps in one album ocures more often. What whould be the work-flow to
make this with digikam?
