It would be nice to have a tool that simulates a Graduated Lens Filter.  This
is a filter that is clear for approx. one half of the filter, then gradually
becomes darker at the other side.  It is typically used for scenes that include
the sky.  The clear part of the filter is for the foreground and the darker
part of the filter blocks some light from the sky to reduce contrast.

I envision being able to determine the point at which density starts to become
reduced, the final density, direction of the gradient, and color.  Color
selection would be nice for warming up a sky.  Rotation of the gradient might
also be useful.

On a nostalgic note: few years ago I was able to quite nicely reproduce
Graduated Filters with set of specially prepare files created after Cokin
catalog and Superimpose tool.

Unfortunately due to some limitations of Superimpose tool practical usage of
these filters was awkward and this pack became only small footnote in digiKam
history :)
