In digiKam's printing wizard I have only the option to cut the image to fit it
on the selected paper size. It would be nice to have an option, to rescale
(shrink) the image to fit it on the paper - leaving margins.

Try KDE4 version. Print Wizzard have been rewritten by Angelo...
