When one right-clicks on a photo, the popup menu does not show any text. On the
contrary the submenus appear normally

It's a bug in KDE theme. I remember a problem with Mandriva stuff in the

I can not confirm this bug either. I tested all available KDE styles here (with
dark and darkroom digikam theme), works fine.

have you tested all those mandriva styles with the "dark" and "darkroom" theme?
Because your screenshot shows the default theme I guess.

I run Mandriva 2009.1 rc2 since few week. It a great release.

I have played with all digiKam color theme and all Mandriva KDE theme. All work
fine here...

Official updates on mandriva have been issue to address this issue so this is
fixed in mdv 2009.0 and mdv 2009.1
