At quick glance I classified this as crash, but the discussion here is about
the preview-slider bug for which the discussion has moved mostly to bug
#173746.
Michael or anyone else, with recent packages (beta6), can you still reproduce
the crash? If not, I will mark that as duplicate of #173746 (for simplicity,
although this is the older bug)
