You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=166274 Summary: rename files on download from camera Product: digikam Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org ReportedBy: marsmissionaries gmail com Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux I think digikam should have an option when downloading images from the camera to rename the files. In gthumb this can be done by checking a box not to keep original file name. This results in files having similar names and a "*.jpg" name. My camera, the Kodak M1033 saves images as *.JPG which is very inconvienient as when i go to upload them firefox usually does not show them in the upload box due to Linux case sensitivity. Now if this was only 1 or 2 images, manually renaming would not be an issue, but when i am dealing with 200+ pictures, it becomes a large problem. I figured out i could use "rename 's/.JPG/.jpg' *" in the command line, but i think that it is inconvenient. I like digikam, and don't want to be forced to use gthumb. I think that the option to rename the files on download is definitely neccesary _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

In addition you would like to lower-case the filenames, correct? Also note the related entries http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141240 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154463 Best, Arnd _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |
