Kindly forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what the “splitter on the
bottom of the view” is.  A work-around that satisfies my needs is to set
Thumbnail click action to 'Start Image Editor' under ALBUM VIEW SETTINGS.
Selected image then appears in center pane of Image Editor.  No reply needed or
