Great to see a resume here... I recommend to put a TODO file in svn with
implementation plan and priority, especially for 1.0.0 release.
Please identify which task need to be done before to close this file.
Has you see the patch from Pino in #194 ?
This one is important to apply in svn before 1.0.0-beta1 release (planed next

http://www.digikam.org/about/releaseplan). It's for packagers, to be
able to use external liblqr and reduce packaging size.
