After spending minutes searching for that option (I was about to grep in the
sources...) I finally found the option you mentioned in the "Caption/Tags" tab.
WTF ist this button doing there?
At least I found out that this indeed updates the creation date. :)
What I tried to use is "Tools -> Synchronize All Images with Database", which
does not work.
