This is a bug that needs to be fixed.  It's nearly as bad as a data loss bug
because many users won't realize where the file really is.  In this case,
Digikam should either use use "file" or libmagic to determine the type of files
without extensions, or it should prompt the user to give it an extension.

Files disappearing into the void without any apparent reason is not an
acceptable behavior.
